Trekking Spots in Nashik

  • Anjaneri Located on Trimbak road, Anjaneri is a popular trekking route with easy difficulty level and emerged with many waterfalls during monsoon. Anjaneri is also said to be birthplace of Lord Hanuman and named after the name of Hanumanji’s mother, Anjani. The trek starts from the base village, Anjaneri and first come across some Jain caves. After reaching at top, there are two temples of Anjani Mata and Sita caves with some carvings. Distance : 20 km

  • Ramshej Ramshej is a small Village/hamlet in Dindori Taluka in Nashik District of Khandesh and Northern region. Ramshej fort is an ideal place for trekking with easy level of difficulty. It is said that Lord Rama had visited this place so named as “Ramshej”. The fort has caved temple, old lake at the top and core darwaja on the west side.It holds historical significance as it witnessed the Mughal war for six years. The trek is easy and simple which can be ventured by a large group of trekkers. Distance : 15 km

  • Kalsubai Kalsubai is the highest peak point of the mountain range of Sahyadri with easy trekking. Kalsubai temple is located at the topmost peak of the Sahyadri mountain range of Maharashtra. The highest peak was used as watching tower during Maratha Empire and now offers fantastic view of the surrounding forests and places. The base starting point of the trek is at Bari village which is 12 km from Bhandardara. Distance : 68 km

  • Brahmagiri Brahmagiri is situated in Trimbakeshwar village and popular for trekking and nature trails in monsoon. It is also said to be mountain form of Lord Shiva and origin of Godavari River. Many devotees come to this place during Shravan month (August/September). Trimbakeshwar temple is perched on the picturesque lusting green Brahmagiri hills. People often climb the mountain to view the origin of River Godavari and the Ganga Dwar temple. “We visit Brahmagiri to experience the sheer beauty of nature. Besides, it is very peaceful here. One can go to Brahmagiri with a group of 25-30 people. It is a very simple and safe trek and hence we don’t need to take any special precautions apart from the regular ones. Distance : 25 km

  • Pandavleni Pandavleni caves are 2000-year-old, and it was built by the Jain Kings. It is a group of 24 Hinayana Buddhist Caves, which date back between 1st century BC and 2nd century AD. These caves are at a distance of 8 km from Nashik. Amongst all, cave number 3 and 10 are the best. Cave number 3 has a large Vihara with fascinating sculptures, cave number 10 is also a Vihara, but it is much older and finer than the cave number 3. It is believed to be as old as the Karla Cave near Lonavala. The cave has idols of Buddha, Jain Teerthankara Vrishabhdeo, and the icons of the Bodhisatva, Veer Manibhadraji and Ambikadevi. These caves are popular meeting places for the disciples as well. There are also attractive water tanks that are very skillfully chiseled into the rock. Distance : 10 km
